LOST MY MARBLES
As a child, I was captivated not by the games but by the marbles themselves, seeing mini-galaxies encased in glass within them. The stark contrast of the marbles against a deep black backdrop transforms them into faux planetary bodies, simply existing in their own universe. Drawing from Martin Heidegger's concept of "Dasein" or "being-in-the-world," this minimalist series aims to encapsulate the very essence of the marble, echoing Heidegger's introspection into the nature of things. This deliberate isolation, mirroring my "FUCKING WEEDS" series, offers viewers a contemplative space, allowing them to immerse themselves without metaphorically losing their 'marbles.' Through this philosophical prism, the series explores the intricate dance between perception, memory, and the innate beauty of mundane objects. It beckons viewers to ponder the profound meanings and connections that simple entities, like marbles, can evoke, rekindling a sense of childhood awe.
