This figurine lived behind glass

This was my Mom’s figurine. My Dad would buy them for her as gifts, but it seemed they equally enamoured him. They resided within a glass cabinet, touched only on occasion for dusting. The figurine's distant gaze sparks curiosity—what did she ponder? Perhaps life behind the glass, forever confined? Outliving them both, it now sits in storage, forgotten until this photograph rekindles its memory.
